Corporate Blood Donation Partnership
There is a vibrant partnership between the National Blood Transfusion Service and several corporate entities which provide support for capacity development and the promotion of voluntary blood donation.
Donations of cash and kind are received annually to allow for the hosting of World Blood Donor Day and other special events. Several of these companies/organizations have also worked with our team to organize corporate blood drives at least once a year thus boosting blood supplies.
The leading partner is GlaxoSmithKline which organizes an annual blood drive at Holy Cross Church Hall on Half Way Tree Road, St. Andrew which collects an average of 80 units of blood.

Schools Partnership Program
The School Partnership Program provides a valuable opportunity to foster the importance of blood donation amongst youth. It is the key to the growth of the pool of voluntary blood donors.
The National Blood Transfusion Service has successfully partnered with Secondary and Tertiary institutions across Jamaica to contribute to this life saving effort. Through these partnerships, students are given the chance to be informed on the importance and process of giving blood.
Among this group the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus, leads the way. They partner with the National Blood transfusion Service twice a year, in March and November to have blood drives in the Assembly Hall on the campus. These two-day blood drives account for almost half the total number of units collected in the Schools Partnership Program.
